Which DVR unit to buy to upgrade my system?

I am considering upgrading our 2MP Hikvision DVR as we have acquired 2 5MP cameras from which we do not get the full benefit.

I have been offered 2 different Hikvision 8MP units but there is a vast difference in the prices.

I am not very knowledgeable about DVR's so perhaps some of you could offer your expertise and explain what the major benefits of each unit is, and whether the differences would be worth spending almost twice as much for one as the other costs.

IMHO I would NOT add 5MP IP cameras to a DVR.
Hybrid DVRs that can also manage one or two IP cameras tend to lead you down a route of limited future success e.g. you are limited to how many IP cameras you can add AND you are limited to the maximum resolution you can use.
And yet, you pay a premium price for a hybrid DVR!

It is better to add a dedicated NVR and use that to grow a new high-res IP system.

Problem is that I have a mix of cameras at present - 3 analogue and 2 IP and a limit to the budget for upgrading at the moment.
Unless I can find a way to connect analogue cameras to a NVR then I will have to spend even more money on new cameras to replace them.
