I;m beginning to think that the Netgear must have somehow failed. It is in a "hard to get to" area, so will need to get to it to test when the weather is better. If anyone has any other suggestions then I'd be grateful for them TIA

Sharing solution in case anyone has similar problem. I had an old BT Router Hub, so connected that to the NVR and connected my laptop wirelessly. Obviously no internet but it created a nice LAN which enabled me to do what I wanted.

Illegal Login causing to stop recording

Thank you - that is most helpful, I will give it a go - before I do, I've a further question. Is there a way to tell if the Illegal attempt is from the Hik Connect software - I suspect that it is as otherwise someone would need to be on my LAN ? I don't have astatic public IP so I guess that...

Accessing Camera via Browser when connected to a NVR

Thanks Dan interesting. I can access the connected camera on a web browser by the method above http://IP_OF_NVR:65001 so logic would suggest that I just need to point NVR A at this IP - but I cant seem to get it to work. Any help appreciated!

Accessing Camera via Browser when connected to a NVR

Hi Is it possible to access a camera via a web browser when it is connected directly to the NVR ? According to the NVR the IP for the camera is 192.168.254.* My network is 192.168.1.* So I think I need to be connected to the 254 network, but that would defeat what i am trying to achieve...

How-to: How Do You Setup Event Pre & Post Recording for a Hikvision Camera?

Thanks, if anyone knows how to do this from a recorded file I'd be grateful. I currently don't have a monitor connected to the NVR as its "securely out the way" Using VLC player you can get some frame data, but not sure if this is for the current playback position or not. I will keep trying...

How-to: How Do You Setup Event Pre & Post Recording for a Hikvision Camera?

Thanks - completely agree with your recommendation for a domestic setup (which this is) about extending the HDD to cover holidays - wise words. I am keen though to see if this set up works. It seems that Hik wanted it to be used like this - otherwise there wouldn't be a separate Frame Rate for...
