Thanks Phil, I have read posts suggesting that using DDNS really speeds things up, especially if I use my ASUS router DDNS. I suppose the best way is to trial all options!

I’m not sure to be honest currently, haven’t set them up in any detail as yet. I hoped I could use motion detection and line crossing and intrusion detection, my cameras record 24/7 on continuous mode. I get the alarm bell pop up constantly on the NVR screen (monitor connected) as it’s still...

I need to set my cameras up also for line crossing / intrusion etc I record continuous 24/7 - won’t that still work along with sending me alerts? Such as motion / line crossing / intrusion?

Try putting WDR on and see what that does in relation to the poor night vision. There is a recent thread I started with much input to settings to help the night vision, I also had a bit of an issue in certain areas.

Thanks Phil Makes sense Hik Connect sounds the easier setup. Assume I would need DDNS and port forwarding setup if I wanted to view from a web browser / another PC. But given phones are almost a part of us - it’s unlikely not going to be far away!

Interesting read. My NVR has only ever been on V3, going to make the jump when I get a spare hour. Currently on V3.4.112 Has anyone else gone to V3 to V4? If so how was your experience? Maybe the bugs lay in 4.21.005?

I think I get you! I haven’t looked into this option as yet. What’s the www ip? Isn’t that the DDNS part?

Hi All What options would people suggest for remote connections as such to my NVR. Been having a good look around and been through a number of the sticky posts, I believe I have a few options, app wise the Hik Connect or iVMS 4500 and also dial straight into the NVR from phone / web browser...

What setup have you got?

Would model NVR and cameras do you have our of interest?

Did you get back down to V3 ok? All back to normal?

Have you tried the IVMS-4500 also? Anyone know if you can use both apps??
