Ok just tried this. It does change the Nvr/Dvr admin password. However the Hik-Connect login password stays as the original and you can still access live view. Remote configuration is disabled though. Not sure what is gained by this.

Using this option on the Hik-Connect app remote control, will this change the password of the Dvr?

The Hikvision IP cameras I have seen normally have a reset button. Depower the camera, press & hold the reset button, repower the camera then release the button after approx 30 seconds.
