Thanks for the very helpful advice! I'm learning more here than I did over 10 minutes with an installer I'll definitely go with the 8mp ColorVu and I series NVR, maybe 2.8mm at the front door and 4mm on the soffits.

That's a lot of cameras! Too complicated for me lol. So I'm going with four 2CD2387G2-LU/B (C) cameras and a DS7616NI12/16P for the highest quality available? Next 2.8mm or 4mm? Am I right in thinking 4mm is less view right and left but more detail looking straight ahead?

How many cameras do you have? Which NVR have you got? Really need to get this right this time!

Yes that's the firmware I am running, the latest one. I think my issue is the cameras have out of date firmware, they are 9 versions behind. I've never updated the cameras firmware before, bit scared lol!

Ok I've managed to log in to the NVR remotely but still can't login into the cameras using their IP address, it just says page cannot be found I've now realised the problem is that the cameras are about 9 firmware versions behind and two of them are running a different version of firmware to...

What I did notice is that the cameras are running different firmware, the two bottom cameras are the ones with different times. Could this be causing the problem?
