    Color vu white light query?

I have a color vu camera model number DS-2CE72HFT-F28 I had previously used this with the white light switched off as it was in a well lit area. However I recently moved it to a dark area and switched the white light to auto. With the light off at night, the image is reasonably well lit...

Disgruntled neighbor does not like CCTV and has threatened with violence.

It's a few years since I Installed my cctv and originally I had masked out anything outside my property perimeter. However I have elderly neighbours who have had occasional falls in their gardens, so I removed the masks so we could keep an eye on them. Also there had been a couple of overnight...

    Setting up alarms and triggers

This is a rather brief explanation, but I hope it points you in he right direction. Most important .... Any devices connected to the alarm circuits must be low voltage. The 'alarm in' connections can be configured to 'normally open' or 'normally closed'. So if for example you connect a pair of...

    Viewing cctv via powerline adapters

HikVision 7208 - video out display?

Have a look at page 48 of the manual section 3.2.2 I think hdmi/vga is referred to as the main output and CVBS (the BNC connector) as the aux output. I'm not sure if you can view both at the...

HikVision 7208 - setting up alarms?

The specs for the unit don't mention voltage handling at the alarm outputs, but as there are no relays inside the unit, I would think they are low voltage. I certainly wouldn't want to connect 240v to them. As you say, some sort of relay switching unit would be required.

    Cat 6 Cable no signal

I would log on to the router, check lan connections to see if it is showing a connection for the MAC address of the camera. Also check router log files to see if any errors are reported.

    Guest Account

This can be done in the configuration of your DVR. I'm using the DS7208HUHI but the procedure should be similar on other models. Logon to DVR select configuration then user. Set up a new account with the name guest or any name you prefer. Click the permissions icon Click camera config Tick the...
