Thanks Juiceof2limes. I think you've hit the nail on the head! In desperation, I'd just finished stringing up a direct Cat5e cable connection to the camera when your advice came in. And yes, that seems to have been the problem. Now all I have to do is work out how to make that connection...

Thanks for coming back to me Martin. I've tried winding the exposure time down to 1/150 in the past without there being any improvement with the motion problem. It's currently set at 1/100 and the problem persists.
